Electromagnetic flowmeter is an instrument that measures the volume flow of conductive liquids based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. Its main structure includes measuring tube, electrode, excitation system, signal converter, etc. There are no parts that hinder the flow of fluid in the measuring tube, and there is almost no pressure loss; a pair of electrodes are installed on the inner wall of the measuring tube, in contact with the fluid, for detecting the induced potential; the excitation system generates a uniform magnetic field; the signal converter amplifies, converts and processes the weak electrical signals detected by the electrodes, and finally outputs a standard signal proportional to the flow rate.
When the conductive liquid flows in the measuring tube, it is equivalent to a conductor cutting the magnetic lines of force. According to Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, an induced electromotive force will be generated in the direction perpendicular to the flow direction, and the magnitude of the electromotive force is proportional to the flow rate of the fluid, the magnetic field strength and the inner diameter of the measuring tube. By measuring the magnitude of the induced electromotive force, the flow rate of the fluid can be obtained through calculation.

Split electromagnetic flowmeter is a type of electromagnetic flowmeter, in which the sensor and converter are installed separately and connected by cables. Compared with the integrated electromagnetic flowmeter, the split electromagnetic flowmeter has the following advantages:
1. Flexible installation
Optimized spatial layout: The split design allows the sensor and converter to be installed in different locations according to the actual situation on site, which can effectively solve some installation problems caused by small space or complex equipment layout. For example, near some large industrial pipelines, the sensor can be installed on the pipeline, and the converter can be installed on the operating table far away from the pipeline, which is convenient for operators to set parameters and read data.
2. Easy maintenance and overhaul: The sensor and converter are installed separately. When performing maintenance and overhaul, there is no need to disassemble the entire flowmeter. Only the sensor and converter need to be operated separately, which reduces the difficulty and workload of maintenance. Especially for some sensors installed at high places or inaccessible locations, by installing the converter in an easy-to-operate position, it can greatly facilitate the maintenance personnel to perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting of the flowmeter.
